General Geography Vocabulary
Aid - to provide help to someone that needs it. Often rich countries will provide aid to poorer countries
Communications - the various ways that people share or exchange information such as through internet, fax, email, newspaper, talking
Conservation - to keep something from running out, you can usually do so with care and attention and only using what you absolutely need
Culture - characteristics or a way of life of a particular group of people - this includes beliefs, religion, traditions, food, leaders, language
Culture Shock - when one is not able to properly adjust to a different culture
Democracy - a system of government that involves participation of people and supports the idea of equality
Discrimination - unfair treatment of a group of people often based on an incorrect assumption
Economy - the system of finances and money involving producing, distributing, consuming goods and services, this includes companies, banking, exports, stock market
Education - the process of learning new skills and information
Employment - having a job or occupation
Environment - anything that surrounds or is around you
